The knowledge of finance is very important and helps a person in all aspects of life. I strongly believe that financial knowledge should be given to children from an early age so that they can no how money works, and how work can be done by spending money. The education in schools and colleges give a lot of theory on finance and financial management but most of it lack the practicality of it.
I've seen a lot of people who after completing their colleges cannot make good financial decisions, even the most basic of them. Our education system should be such that students can make use of money and finance as a resource to manage other things.
Money can be used in a lot of ways as a tool, even the debt is good if a person knows how to use it wisely. Those who do not have this knowledge will always complain of the lack of resources when they find an opportunity where they can make some really good investments. These investments would be in the business a just the capital investments.
Perhaps this is one of the main reasons some people are successful despite all odds because they have a good knowledge on how finances work and how to use them to get work done. This is a very important part of a business management as well if you don't have a knowledge on this, nothing else will work efficiently to its potential.
One of the good ways to learn this is to read good books and start working with money. Nothing teaches you better than your own experience, you might make profits, losses are nothing but in the process you learn a lot about how to make things work for you and this is the most important part to learn as a businessman. Risk is as much a part of business as anything else, you will also learn to take calculated risks. Education, knowledge and experience go hand-in-hand to make a wise person financially.

Medical billing employment
I didn't know how many people want medical billing employment until I decided to start a biomedical billing and coding business. Actually I talked about this with my friends soon everyone I knew was asking me about it. I don't even have an idea how many queries I have answered regarding this.
Seems like the economy is in really bad shape and people want to add to their income in any way possible. This business can be a source of extra income for people but in order to do this a person needs to have some knowledge and experience about medical billing and coding. Without this knowledge you will have to pay the learning costs.
Though there are a lot of schools and colleges which provide in-depth knowledge in this field. But still a person with serious as to put in money, time and effort to learn this. Besides learning, education and training there R. other aspects to it as well. You need to have contacts or references at places where they need to get medical billing and coding done.
Without these contacts it becomes very difficult to get the business from them. However if you are not looking forward to run your business then medical billing employment takes a different path. But still you have to be good in it to get a good job. Finding a good job will not be an issue, the bigger issue is to work efficiently and that only comes with the right knowledge and experience. Some kind of medical billing training and education can be a good help at work.
So my advice to anyone looking for a medical billing employment would be to get some knowledge first, before looking for any kind of work in this field. Otherwise this can be a profitable business.

I still love reading medical journals
I got this habit reading medical journals but I was working in the state hospital and that was around 20 years back. It's like you develop a habit and then you cannot get out of it. Medical journals are utterly boring to most of the people but I like reading them and I'm addicted to it, I guess.
Your work has a lot of impact on the way you like to spend your time. Even after all these years I don't like to waste time on watching TV and playing any kind of games. That also explains the kind of workaholic I am. My wife has been complaining of this for a long time. I know I should have given her a lot more time than I did but I guess she knows this pretty well and doesn't complain anymore.
I have a subscription of around five medical journals at my home which no one else is interested in. Lately I've also been reading some business journals because of my reading habit. The library at my home has a ton of books on every topic possible and have spent a lot of money on the books.
Reading is a good habit but with Internet, iPods, media players, portable games, cell phones, the attention span of a person has really gone down. There's so much happening in a person's life at single point of time that he is more in a confused state. The mind is never at rest always hopping from one thing to another which can be really bad for concentration. And I guess these will not improve until a person has some self-discipline. I wonder if the new generation is at peace with themselves ever. The always occupied with something on the other which is taking up the time as well, and by the time they realize that they have already wasted a lot of precious moments of their life with earplugs plugged into their iPods.

So I have a good experience in medical field, I know most of the medical term and how the industry works. I am leading a retired life and enjoying it as well. But after a while you start to feel a little bored and empty because you have keeping busy for years.
